OUTFIT: The Colours Of Autumn

It's official, this week I'm putting away most of my Summer wardrobe. The leaves are falling, the temperatures are dropping and everyone and their dog is getting excited about Pumpkin Spiced Lattes. Autumn is just around the corner! In terms of fashion I know I'm not alone in declaring Autumn my favourite month, I love nothing more than wrapping up in a chunky knit jumper and getting my Dr. Marten's out again. My style can often be a little repetitive though, even boring perhaps and I've been trying to change that over these past 6 months. I've tried on more clothes than you could imagine in those months in an attempt to try and find my style again, I'm slowly building up a wardrobe full of a variety of options which is helping me to steer clear of my usual t-shirt and skinny jeans combo. I'm by no means a fashion blogger but I'm enjoying showcasing my style on here more and today I'm even more excited to do so after my recent photoshoot with the incredibly talented Kaye from Fordtography.

When I think of Autumn there are specific colours that come to mind, the colours of the leaves on the ground and the rain filled grey skies, and these are always reflected in the Autumn fashion trends, both new and old. I'm always drawn to fluffy grey jumpers and warm purple tones but there is one colour that I've always stayed away from; mustard yellow. For some reason I've always seen it as a brave colour, something that someone with confidence would wear and in my mind, that definitely wasn't me. When I saw this stunning top in New Look though I was immediately drawn to it and grabbed it off the rail before I could even consider whether I could pull it off. I fell even deeper in love with it when I tried it on and I've been dying to wear it since, my shoot with Kaye being the ideal opportunity to show it off.

The jeans are a recent buy too after my favourite everyday pair basically died on me, I've not been able to find anything as well fitting since buying them so I think I'd perhaps kept them a little too long! It's taken me trying on 10+ pairs but I've finally found some that fit me perfectly, the ASOS Tall Ridley's. I basically live in skinny jeans and I prefer high waisted ones as it's more flattering when I'm in my powerchair so they really do tick all the boxes for me. I don't know what I'd do without the ASOS tall range!

The shoes are Matalan, years old, and I got the bag in the New Look sale a few months back so it's no longer available sadly! I wasn't even sure if the bag would go with the outfit but Kaye suggested trying it out and it turned out to be exactly what this look needed.

I'm currently fundraising for a vital new powerchair as I'm becoming increasingly housebound due to how basic my current chair is, can you spare a few pounds to help? Donate here.
