Burt's Bees Skincare Routine | My Thoughts

About a month ago, at the Blogosphere Cover Reveal party for the issue I'm in the myself and the attendees were so lucky to receive some products from a number of different brands to try out, there was one brand I was most excited for though and that was Burt's Bees. They were doing hand massages on the night but thanks to my dislocating joints it wasn't something I could join in with so I was so happy when I was handed a bag filled with basically a whole new skincare routine for me to try out. I'm trying to get better with my skincare and slowly but surely I am improving and developing a better routine but these products were definitely the boost and motivation I needed to start taking skincare seriously.

Believe it or not I've never actually tried a cleansing oil before, I feel like I might be quite late on this trend! I'm used to using micellar waters and simple face washes so the prospect of using an oil to wash my face and remove my makeup excited me, especially as I have quite dry skin so I welcome anything that might inject some moisture into it! I've only been using this at night to remove my makeup, because that is what it does best! This has been wiping away even my most stubborn of mascaras, Benefit's They're Real, I'm looking at you. It's designed for normal to dry skin so it's perfect for my skin type, but I can see why someone with oily skin might be wary of giving products like this a go!

Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Treatment Mask | buy here

For the past few months I've been a big face mask fan, I've been trying everything from tissue masks to clay ones and I've built up quite a love for popping on a face mask once or twice a week. I think it's one of the simplest and easiest ways to give your skin a bit of a boost! I often go for masks that will hydrate my skin or give it a complete refresh, unblocking my pores etc and this mask ticks the hydration box. It has a thick consistency and I definitely didn't go with the less is more approach but I really felt the benefits of piling it on. It's not a cheap face mask but I cannot deny how soft and hydrated my skin feels after using it. It's one that you can massage into your skin after letting it rest, so it almost stays on as a moisturiser after, which I really love and I feel like I'm getting the most out of it when I use it. This is definitely my favourite product out of the four and I can see myself replacing it when it runs out, it's such a treat for my skin!

Burt's Bees Sensitive Daily Moisturising Cream | buy here

After I've cleansed my face I use my eye cream and serum (both from Boots Botanics) and then it's time to pop on a moisturiser! I find that my serum often gives me most of the moisture I need so when it comes to a daily moisturiser I'm quite flexible on what I use and find that I don't always need something designed for dry skin, something simple will usually suffice. Whilst I don't have sensitive skin I do like to exfoliate quite often as I have flaky skin so I always welcome using something that will soothe and not irritate my face. This basically ticks all of my boxes! It's light, a little goes a long way and it sinks into my skin quickly and without leaving any kind of sticky residue. It does what it says on the tin and I love that it comes in a pump bottle, it makes application very easy. If you're looking for something simple that does what it says on the tin, whilst catering for sensitive skin then this is the moisturiser for you.

Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Night Cream | buy here

You know what I said about wanting a simple day cream? Well, when it comes to moisturising at night I want the complete opposite. I want something thick, hydrating and moisturising so I wake up with baby soft skin in the morning so I was immediately drawn to this product because of it's claims of intense hydration. This comes in a pot, rather than a pump bottle like the day cream which initially I was disappointed about but once I felt the consistency of the product I accepted that it was probably better off in a pot. I didn't expect it to be so thick so the first time I used it I slathered it on like I was plastering a wall, ending up with way too much product on my face. On the plus side I quickly discovered how fast this sinks into your skin, especially if you really massage it in but I do now know that a little goes a long way with this product! For a while now I've not bothered with a separate night cream, I've just been using day creams but this has definitely brought home to me how beneficial using a night cream can be!

I honestly never expected to love every single product, this is the first time I've tried Burt's Bees skincare range and I've been totally blown away. Their range might be a little above my usual budget for such products but I can't definitely see that they are worth the price tag, my skin has never been happier!

These products were kindly gifted to me at an event but I was under no obligation to review them and this does not affect my opinion.

  3. Great products surely gonna try these. My skin care routine includes lifecell all-in-one anti aging cream as it is a good moisturizer. Everyone has his idea of beauty, and we need to have things, people and places of beauty in our everyday life. In the words of a poet a thing of beauty is a joy forever.
