Collection Primed & Ready | Budget Face Primers

Despite being a beauty blogger for almost five years face primers are one of those products that I've never properly got familiar with. I'm like a duck to water when it comes to new lipsticks or mascaras being released but my interest in face products, minus concealers, has never really blossomed all that much. This was until this year I think, brands have started offering much wider ranges of shades when it comes to foundations so finally I've been able to find some products that suit me. Using foundation on a more regular basis meant that my interest in face primers definitely started to grow, I wanted something that would brighten up my skin whilst making my foundation last longer too. These 2 primers from budget brand Collection most definitely fit that criteria, I've wanted to talk about them for a while but they just keep getting pushed to the back of the list, so blogtober is the perfect opportunity to finally review them!

There are 2 different shades of the Primed and Ready Reviving & Anti-Fatigue Illuminating Primer, I've ended up with both of them after I ordered the wrong shade the first time round! Cool Rose is the one that I always had my eye on when they first came out but I've enjoyed trying out Warm Apricot too. Cool Rose is recommend more for cool skin tones, I have pale cool toned skin so I always knew it would fit me better, whilst Warm Apricot is recommend more for warm skin tones. After using them both I can definitely say that those recommendations are pretty true, cool rose definitely worked better for me, I'm glad they offer 2 shades for different skin tones so there is more chance of one of them suiting you.

They are both a sheer liquid product that aims to perfect and prime your skin before you apply your other face products, they also contain ultra fine light reflecting pearls for a soft, natural glow. I was definitely worried at first that this would be an almost glittery product like the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation but it was the complete opposite, the glow is subtle and very natural, sometimes even if I'm not wearing foundation I'll apply this just to brighten my skin up a little. I definitely found that it prolonged how long my foundation stayed on for too, it made it look fresher for longer, like it had only just been applied.

I didn't find either of the shades to feel oily on my skin, they both sank in beautifully and left my skin feeling soft and primed ready for foundation. I sometimes find with primers that they can almost leave a residue on your skin which can make applying foundation a little tricky but I didn't find that with this one either. For £4.99 you really are getting a lot with this and it's impressed me more than some of the more expensive primers I've tried in the past!

There are also 2 other primers in the Primed & Ready range that I might try out, an Illuminating and Reviving Eye Primer  and a Powered by Witch Mattifying Pore Minimiser. On the day that this post goes up all of the Primed & Ready products are on offer for just £3.99 each at Boots so if you want to try any of them, now is the time!

  1. These look like really good value for money for what they are, I'll be keeping an eye out for them :)
