Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Lipsticks (Chauffeur + Girls Best Friend) | Review

Makeup Revolution are always releasing products so whilst I want to say that these rose gold lipsticks are new they certainly aren't as new as some of the more recent launches! There are a lot of cliches associated with bloggers and anything rose gold is definitely one of them and I have to say it was the packaging that did persuade me to buy these in the end. The shade range is a little limited but there was definitely at least one that stood out to me and I bought another more brighter shade that caught my eye as well so I had a few to try out. Makeup Revolution really do make the best budget makeup products so I had high expectations for these and I have to say at least one of the shades really did live up to them.

These rose gold lipsticks claim to be comfortable to wear with a high coverage formula and buildable colour, big claims for a £3 lipstick I think. When it comes to Makeup Rev. though most of the time they live up to their claims and this time around is no different, at best I hoped I'd get a half decent lipstick with pretty packaging but I got a whole lot more than that.

Chauffeur is definitely my favourite out of the two, when I first saw it I was reminded of the kind of lipsticks that people like Kylie Jenner love and wear, I'd never been too interested in such shades before but something about this one just caught my eye. It has turned out to be one of the most wearable lipsticks I own, it's a nude shade with light brown tones and it suits my skintone perfectly. I've never been able to find the 'perfect nude lipstick' for me, until now!

On the other hand we have Girls Best Friend which in all honesty is just not my kind of shade at all. I didn't expect it to be so bright and it's a kind of barbie pink shade, not my cup of tea at all. It really doesn't suit me but that doesn't mean it won't work for you, if this is the kind of lipstick you love and wear often then I say go for it!

Both shades are very creamy and pigmented and like Makeup Revolution claim they are very comfortable to wear. Girls Best Friend is perhaps a little sticky at first but I think this helps the intense colour last longer and I got about a few hours wear before I need to top it up a little. They weren't at all drying so this slight sticky feeling didn't bother me at all and I soon went about my day without even knowing I was wearing lipstick. I think they really have got the formula spot on with these and when you combine it with the beautiful packaging and gorgeous shades I really think you are on to a winner, plus they are only £3 each!

You can buy these on the Makeup Revolution website for sure, I don't know whether they are in-store yet (or at all) as I haven't been in my local Superdrug for a while. If you've spotted them in Superdrug though perhaps you could leave a comment below so people know!

  1. These look gorgeous! Ialised bright pinks don't suit m still haven't tried anything from Makeup Revolution. I recently realised bright pinks don't suit me anymore but I had one I didn't want to throw away so I just dab it lightly onto the lips and press it in with my finger to make more of a stain effect, then put a bit of lip balm over :) x
