A Few New Favourites

Over the past few months whilst I've been quiet on here I've still been buying and trying out lots of beauty products, I just haven't been blogging about them! I thought it would be nicer to do a small roundup post of a few new favourites instead of committing to typing up 4 separate review posts because we all know that my track history with getting posts up when promised hasn't been the best recently.

I'm approaching blogging more casually now though and trying to move away from trying to be so professional, I'm hoping if I look at this as more of a blog and less of a website again I'll find it easier to get back into the swing of things. I can't promise a new post every few days or even every week but for now I have got one for you and I've been looking forward to getting round to typing this up!

For a while now I've been wanting to change up my skincare routine a little so this is just one of the many products that I've treated myself to recently. I chose this as it was on offer for only £1.99 in Boots at the time and I remember wanting to try it when it first came out. I've found that it has made such a difference, using this night and day has left my skin feeling softer and looking more radiant. The texture of it is more like a gel than a cream which I've been enjoying so much, I've definitely found the perfect moisturiser for me.

As well as switching up my skincare routine I've also been on the look out for a new concealer, or two. I've been using the famous Collection Lasting Perfection for years now and I still love it but I'm just getting a little bored with it and sometimes it doesn't always work well with my dry skin. The mixture of an offer in-store on Seventeen products and a few good reviews I'd read led me to buy this and I am truly so happy that I did. Coverage wise it doesn't give me quite as much as the Collection one but I find this is more brightening so I actually I much prefer that combination. It looks more natural and the brightening element means that I don't need loads of coverage. If you're looking for a new concealer I'd really recommend this as well as the next one I'm about to talk about!

Seventeen Phwoarr Paint
For months and months now I've been hunting for this concealer in-store after so many people have regularly recommended it to me and finally my luck came up a couple of weeks back and I found one. I have to say it was really worth waiting for, I was unsure as to whether it would work well with my dry skin but it turns out that it is just perfect for me. It covers my blemishes and under-eye circles better than anything I've ever tried before, I'm passing on the recommendation to all of you as it really is something that I wouldn't be without now.

Collection Big Fake Curves Mascara
I realised recently that something that I'm lacking in my makeup bag is a waterproof mascara so I popped into Boots a couple of weeks back and looked around for one that did what I wanted but also wasn't too pricey. I was tempted by a few Maybelline ones but this was a few pounds cheaper so I popped this in my basket instead. It isn't the kind of mascara I'd usually go for but every now and then it's nice to go for something a little different and I'm very glad I did. It stays on my lashes all day long, it really does not budge! It even survived a long day at the coast recently which was what made me so happy that I'd picked it over others. It gives me lots of volume and holds a curl really well, I do wish it gave me a little more length but a quick coat of a lengthening mascara on top solves that pretty easily. My lashes are now primed and ready for if we get anymore hot weather!

Fingers crossed this is the start of me getting back into blogging, no promises this time though!

    1. I think a lot of people have been using the Collection one for so long that we are all a little bored of it! I'm not too bad thanks, plodding along :) xx

  4. I tried Phwoaar paint and it was far too thick that I found it difficult to blend into the skin :( ah well!

Nice to see you back Shona :) x

    1. Such a shame you didn't get on with it, I've found it to be quite blendable but it is definitely something that will react differently to different skin types.

Thank you so much Laura! x
