NEW from Makeup Revolution

I've been lucky enough over the past few weeks to have been sent some of Makeup Revolution's new products, Makeup Rev. have to be the best brand for new releases as they are always bringing out products left, right and centre! I've been trying to keep up with it all but it is taking me a little while to get up individual reviews so I thought until then I'd do a little round up post, telling you a bit about each product and my first impressions so far.

This palette has to be one of my favourites from the most recent new releases that I've tried, I'd been meaning to pick up one of the blush palettes as it would be perfect for travelling and weekends away, something that I've going to be doing a lot more next year. All the shades are gorgeous but the second shade on the first row really has stood out to me. It's a really wearable peachy pink shade with a stunning glow which brightens up my skin which I love especially now it is getting colder. I've had a little more trouble using the dark more bronze like shades because of my fair skin but I am getting the hang of using bronzer and contouring more now!

When I think of Makeup Revolution I first think of their eyeshadow palettes because they are what really seem to get people's attention and for good reason. I've got a few of their palettes already that I adore so I'm not surprised that I like this one just as much. I tend to stick to mostly neutral shades so this is right up my street, I like that there are a few darker purple/green shades thrown in as well though. It's a mix of matte and shimmer eyeshadows and surprisingly I found that the matte shades are pretty good and not far off the same level of pigmentation that the shimmer shades have. I'll be sure to include swatches in my full review so you can see just how beautiful some of the shades are!

At first I found these products a little difficult to work with but as soon as I found a good method of application I really started to enjoy using them. I've been picking up Pink Dew a lot more than Desire as it is more wearable and subtle but both shades are gorgeous. I tried using this with my fingers at first but I've found it is so much easier if you use a brush, I haven't got a stippling brush but I think that would be the best brush for the job. The product feels quite oily at first but it doesn't settle on the skin like that, in fact I found that you have to blend it in pretty quickly as it does tend to dry fast which is a bit annoying but with practice I think I'll get better at working with these fluid blushers.

From what I've seen on Twitter this seems to be quite a popular product and I'm not surprised as at £3 it really is a bargain. It would appear to me that 2014 as very much been about brow products and even I have finally found a good brow routine which features the other new Makeup Rev brow product (Ultra Brow Arch and Shape Brow Dual*). I haven't got on with this product quite as much as I have with the other eyebrow product, possibly because I haven't used anything like this before. Also though I found that this shade is a little too warm for my complexion, I'm tempted to try the lighter shade though as I think this really could be a fab product. It's well pigmented and for only £3 you get quite a lot of product. Also my brows stay in place all day when I've used this, I think I'll definitely have to pick up the lighter shade so I can use this more often!

This product really intrigued me when I first opened it up as it makes quite a few appealing claims. It claims to feel weightless, give invisible coverage for a flawless face, diffuse imperfections and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I thought that if it could do all that then this really was a good bargain product! This can be used either under makeup as a primer or like a setting powder to keep your makeup in place and to absorb oil and eliminate shine without leaving powdery trace behind. The consistency feels a bit silicone-like and I automatically thought that it was a bit like the famous Benefit POREfessional, just cheaper and in a more solid form. The product comes with a sponge but it is so much easier to use your fingers to warm up the product and apply it. I've only used this as a primer so far, I've found that it helps my foundation to glide on more easily and it does keep my face products in place for longer. I'm definitely interested to see how it works in the place of a setting powder as well though so I'll be sure to do a full review once I've given that a go!

Like many others I am a big fan of the Rimmel ScandalEyes Eyeliner in Nude as it brightens up my eyes thus making me look so much more awake so I was interested to see how this would compare especially as it is just that little bit cheaper. I have to say though for me the Rimmel one still comes out on top, I found this Makeup Rev. dupe to be less pigmented and the colour is a little to orange/peach for my liking. Something that I prefer though is that this is a twist up product which I always prefer over sharpening an eyeliner like the Rimmel one. This eye brightener didn't WOW me but that doesn't mean it's a bad product, I'll still be reaching for it every now and again, it just isn't my first choice.

Eyeliner is something that I wear a lot more often these days, I haven't quite got to the point where I'd even attempted anything too extravagant but I like lining my tight line and upper lash line a little at the moment. This is a dual ended product, at one end is a felt tip like product perfect for doing flicks and at the other end is a kohl liner perfect for tight lining or it is lovely blended out when doing a smokey eye. I've definitely gotten more use out of the kohl end but I have been trying out the felt tip like applicator, not with much success though, it would seem that I'm still useless at applying eyeliner! For those who are a lot better though I think this is a fab makeup bag product, you can achieve any eyeliner look with the combination of the two products, all for only £3.50 as well which is amazing.

Like I mentioned above me and liquid felt tip liners aren't really the best of friends so I haven't gotten much use out of this but it would be perfect for those who enjoy this kind of product more. Again this is a dual ended product with a felt tip applicator at both ends, one is thick and one is thinner though, perfect for creating lots of different looks. It's a pretty well pigmented product for the price, and the formula is not too dry or watery either so I think this would be a fab product for eyeliner lovers.

Alongside the Blusher Palette this has to be one of my favourites from all of the new releases. I can't wait to do a full review of this as it really is a great mascara. The brush is one of my favourite things about it (you can see a picture on the Makeup Rev. website) as the curve fits the shape of my eye perfectly making application easier and it lifts my lashes a little. Also a big thing for me is that it lasts nearly all day, towards the late afternoon/evening it does start to transfer a little but I always have that problem and it lasts a lot longer than other mascaras do on me. I can't believe how good this is considering the £3 price tag, my lashes look so voluminous and long when I wear this, look out for my full review soon with lots of pictures!

As you can tell I've found quite a few favourites from this bunch of new Makeup Revolution releases. This bargain brand seems to just get it right over and over again, it's easily my favourite brand right now and perhaps my stand out brand for all of 2014! If you haven't tried any of their products yet I'd really urge you to make a little order and give them a go for yourself, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
