Thanks to Shona for letting me guest post for her blog whilst she's recovering from her operation! I love her blog and it's been so fun writing a post for it. I'm Emma from Speckled Beauty, a modest little beauty and lifestyle blog. I mostly review products and talk about anything to do with make up, skincare, etc. Today I'm going to review three of the MAC Pro Longwear Lipcremes (£18).
I have three. From left to right: Unlimited, Positively Dashing and Prolongwear. The formula is a little odd. It applies very creamy and opaque but sets to a satin finish that lasts hours on your lips. I wore Positively Dashing out last night and it lasted from without fading at all. It still hadn't come off the next morning despite really scrubbing at it before bed. The lipstick really clings to your lips so can be quite drying. After 1-2 hours of wearing these lipsticks, I always apply some lip balm or gloss on top to combat the dry feeling. The formula also clings to dry patches so it's best to use a lip scrub and balm before wearing these. I can't fault the wear time of these lipsticks though. If I know I'm going to need my lipstick to last all day I always wear one of these. They don't feather, bleed or wipe off easily.
Unlimited is a mauve toned medium pink. It's a great colour for everyday wear because it's such a muted, pretty shade. I wear it all of the time.
Positively Dashing is a berry shade. It's more not pink toned like a lot of berry shades so is quite unique in my collection. A great shade for Autumn, no?
Prolong is my favourite of the three. It's a bright, blue toned red that makes your teeth look super white, I adore this shade.
Overall, I really love these lipsticks despite how drying they are simply because they last forever. They're the most long wearing lip product I've found to date. If I just make sure to apply lip balm regularly on top of these shades, they are comfortable to wear. They are hardly noticeable on your lips because the formula is so thin and non-slippery. I'd recommend them to you all if you want more long lasting lipstick.
