Aveda Stress-Fix Body Creme | Review

Recently I've been feeling quite stressed and worried so I've been trying my best to relax through all sorts of methods. As a beauty blogger though one of the first ideas I had was to take a look through my products to see if I had anything that claimed to help relax you. Coincidently around this time I was kindly sent this Aveda Stress-Fix Body Creme* to review which claims to be stress relieving, for a few weeks now I've been constantly using it and hoping that it will help moisturise my worries away.

This body lotion claims to hydrate the skin but more importantly it claims that it can help your body relax. It contains lavender (standard for most stress relieving products) and sage which are supposed to relax you whilst moisturising your skin, at £36 though this is a more luxury product than other offerings available on the highstreet.

I have really enjoyed using it as a body lotion as it leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft, you can't fault it as a body creme, it does everything that one is supposed to. However on it's own I don't feel that it helped to relax me, I started using it on it's own just before bed every night and I didn't really notice a difference. I think this kind of product is better when used with other relaxing products and of course you need the right atmosphere. I lit some candles one night, had a nice shower and put on a face mask which made me feel nice and relaxed. Using this body creme alongside that routine did make a difference I think, all the products working together meant I felt more relaxed. Personally just putting on a lavender scented body lotion doesn't relax me at all, of course this is the kind of product that will get mixed reactions.

I did really like the product when used in the right atmosphere/scenario but would I pay £36 for it? Probably not, there are so many other products out there that are so similar but are 10 times cheaper. This doesn't mean that it isn't a nice product though, like I said I do like it and will continue to use it.

I'd love to know below what you think of these kinds of products, also let me know if you have any Aveda products that you love, I'd definitely be open to trying more from the brand in the future!

Thanks for reading,
Shona x

  1. It's frustrating that a lot of stress relieving/relaxing/sleep aiding products contain lavender as I hate the smell and am also allergic to it! I'm slightly confused that on the tube it says for professional use only, not for retail sale. Does that mean it's only salons or similar that can get hold of it? It's a shame it didn't really help you relax but I hope you are feeling a bit better at the moment xx
