Life Update | Blog Changes, Sixth Form + Q&A

It's been well over a month since I last did a life update post so I thought I'd do one today as there have been a few changes on my blog and in my life. I've got a new blog design, a new domain and more to discuss with you!

Firstly whilst I have your attention, someone suggested a few days ago that I should do a Q&A post on my blog. I did one of these quite a while back and enjoyed answering your questions so thought that it was quite a good idea! Comment below with any questions you might have and your blog link if you have a blog as I'll link your blog in the post as well.

You may have noticed recently that a few things have changed on my blog, the first being my blog design! After talking to you all you all seemed to support me in my choice to change my blog name so I threw myself into changing things by firstly getting a new blog design. The lovely Serena designed my blog, my old design was also done by her and I couldn't be happier with the new one! I didn't have too many ideas about what I wanted yet she still created something that is so me. I really like that it is a lot cleaner and sleeker now, it suits my organised personality! Take a look at her blog design shop here, I really recommend going with her if you need a new blog design.

Also I've finally got my own domain! Goodbye freshbeautyxox, hello shonalouise, I'm so happy that I have finally changed things over as my hate for the blog name freshbeautyxox was growing day by day. I've been known by that name for over 2 years now so it will take a little while to adjust but it is completely worth it as I feel proud of my blog now and I don't cringe every time I say/type my blog name or link!

Finally I was going to include this in my next Scoliosis surgery/recovery update but I don't think I'm going to do another until I have had my MRI and get the results so I thought I'd mention it in this post instead. I've now left Sixth Form as there was no way I could catch up with the work and with exams weeks away there would be no chance of me passing them. I'm going to go back in September and re-do year 12 instead. I won't say too much about my school on here but it is partly their fault and partly to do with my prolonged recovery and pain. I've now got 5 or 6 months of free time, I'm not really sure what I'm going to do! For now I'm just blogging, reading, online shopping and watching films but hopefully I'll get a bit better soon and I'll be able to go out and spend time with my friends and family.

That's it for this life update! Don't forget to leave your questions below for my Q&A post!

Thanks for reading,
Shona x

    1. Yeah, I had a 50 (ish) degree C curve (thoracic) but I had spinal fusion from T3-L4 (i think) in December 2013, still recovering now, had some problems with one of my legs.

  6. I'm so sorry to hear that you've had to leave sixth form, but if you're so far behind it's probably for the best. In my last year of uni while doing my undergrad I was seriously ill. I went to lessons before the Easter holiday, but that was when I got ill and I only managed to get into uni a couple of times after that. Despite having been so ill and still having double vision as a result of my illness I decide to just carry on with uni and sat my exams (with one eye closed as that was the only way I could see straight!). Looking back I wish I'd deferred until I was completely better, but I came out with a 2:2, which I was quite proud of as I didn't start revising until the day before my exams started. Go back and start afresh when you're fully recovered and can concentrate and do your best :) Oh and I love the new blog name and your new design xx
