An Introduction to... Elemis Freshskin Skincare

Recently you might have seen on my blog that I've been talking about skincare a bit more, this year so far I've really enjoyed switching up my skincare routine and trying new products. I think everyone is always looking to perfect their skincare routine, including myself. I've never had amazing skin but I don't have bad skin either, my Mum was blessed with good skin so I've got that from her. My skin can get very dry though and flaky sometimes, meaning I'm always looking for the best exfoliator and moisturiser/serum to help combat this. I certainly haven't found my perfect skincare routine yet but I think I've come close as I have added a few of the Elemis Freshskin Products to my to routine over the past few months.

The Elemis Freshskin Range has been designed to meet the needs of younger skin, perfect for teenagers and those in their twenties. There are a variety of different products in the range including the Skin Clear products which target oily and blemish prone skin. I've been trying 5 of the products from the Freshskin range for the past few months and I'm generally impressed, here are some mini reviews of all of the products!

Elemis Freshskin Peachy Perfect Gentle Face Wash* | £12 | buy here
When it comes to face washes and cleansers I never have been too fussy as I tend to invest more in my exfoliators and moisturisers. I don't have particularly sensitive or blemish prone skin either so really I just need something that will get the job done and leave my skin feeling soft and ready for the day. I've been using this most mornings for the past few months, I've sometimes used it in the evening as well but I tend to use something more tailored for removing makeup at night. Firstly I really like that this has a pump, it is fuss free and easy to dispense the right amount of product, also I like that you can see how much you have left. The actual product is really light and gentle on your skin but also does the job, it doesn't leave my skin feeling dry or tight either. This is such a simple product yet it has left my skin feeling a lot softer and I can say goodbye to my old face washes that strip my skin of the little moisture it has.

Elemis Freshskin Skin Glow Exfoliating Face Wash* | £12 | buy here
This is a bit of a 2 in 1 product, claiming to be a gentle, yet deep pore cleansing, exfoliator and face wash. I'm all for skipping steps when I'm feeling a bit lazy so I was sure this would be the perfect product for me. This contains cherry powder and jojaba beads that polish and refine your skin to help leave it feeling soft and smooth. This is definitely a gentle product but I just don't feel like it gets the job done when I use it, I have found myself wanting to reach for my usual exfoliator over this on multiple occasions. I think this would be great for someone with normal skin or someone who just doesn't struggle with dry skin as much as myself, for me though this just isn't the right product.

Elemis Freshskin Super Boost Moisturising Serum* | £18 | buy here
I'm not going to beat around the bush, I absolutely love this product! There are so many serum's out there designed for older skin or blemish prone skin so I'm over the moon to have found something that is right for me. This is an intensive and hydrating serum designed to give you natural, glowing skin whilst giving it a moisture boost, exactly what I am looking for! It contains hyaluronic acid, plum oil and vitamin E which work together to leave your skin looking fresh, awake and hydrated. I've been using this every night before I go to sleep in place of my night moisturiser, although you can use it underneath your usual moisturiser. I really have seen a big difference in my skin since using this, I've been waking up with skin that feels soft, smooth and moisturised meaning I need to use less moisturiser and my skin is not clogged up with product. This product has impressed me so much and I've welcomed it into my skincare routine with very open arms!

Elemis Freshskin Softly Softly Daily Moisturiser* | £20 | buy here
This is an everyday moisturiser that is light, non greasy and enriched with Seaweed extracts. It also contains  rosehip seed oil and sweet almond oil to leave your skin feeling soft, hydrated and revitalised. Unfortunately though despite it containing some great ingredients I didn't find this did much for my skin. It is a very light moisturiser and doesn't really help my dry skin much. It doesn't leave my skin feeling soft and doesn't do anything for the drier patches on my face. I think this would be something I might try again in the Summer when my skin isn't as dry. This might be great for those with normal or even oily skin as it is very light but at the moment I just don't get on with it.

Elemis Freshskin Dreamy Sleep Night Time Moisturiser* | £22 | buy here
This is almost the Sister of the above moisturiser, one of the differences being that it is made for night time use instead of day time use. I had hoped I would get on with this a little better as night time moisturisers tend to be more hydrating. Despite it being full of vitamin E, C and A though just like the day moisturiser this didn't do enough for my dry skin. I think this moisturising duo would be much more suited to someone who doesn't have dry skin, or better for use in the Summer.

Overall I have fallen in love with the serum and I've really loved using the face wash!

  1. Gah why have I not tried Elemis yet! They sound fab! x

    1. I'd definitely recommend giving them a try! I think they have some kits with minis in, you should get one of them :) x

  2. I've heard so much about Elemis but have never tried anything! These all look great and I may pick up the face wash when I finish my current one, it's from the Dermalogica clear start range but it is quite drying and I don't think it has worked that well unfortunately! I wish I could find my perfect skin care routine! x
