My Makeup Collection/Storage #1

I've hated the way my makeup has been stored for a quite a while now, I've always wanted some clear acrylic storage, it's a storage obsessed blogger's dream! Like everyone else I really want some MUJI storage but I found some similar drawer sets on Ryman's that were cheaper so treated myself to some new storage. However I obviously wasn't smart enough to properly check the dimensions of the drawers as when they were arrived this morning they were a lot smaller than expected! Entirely my fault but I can still use them for storing some of my most used/everyday makeup, which is exactly what it is perfect for. I still have plans to get some MUJI storage very soon but I thought I'd still show you my temporary storage until then as I am a lot happier with the way everything is organised now. I can finally say goodbye to my WHSmith Cupcake Drawers Set!

Most of the makeup that is on my dressing table/desk are products that I reach for often, with my most reached for products being kept in my acrylic storage. I keep the rest of my makeup in one of the drawers in my dressing table/desk which I will show you at the end of the post.

Firstly next to my mirror I have my brushes, I have my face brushes which are mainly Real Techniques stored in a small vase that I got from a Charity Shop and behind them sit my eye brushes which are in a old clean pasta sauce jar. I also have my eyeliners and mascaras stored in a yankee candle jar next to them, empty candle jars are great for storage!

Next to my brushes/mascaras/eyeliners is a Ferrero Rocher holder/box that is very handy for storing makeup in, an excuse to buy more chocolate, right? I keep my face products that don't fit in my drawers in there, there's blushers, primers and BB Creams in it. In front of that I have a little glass bowl which holds any lip products that don't fit in my acrylic storage. I'm hoping that having my products out in the open, instead of in opaque drawers, will encourage me to use a variety of products more often!

My most used palettes, which include my UD Naked2 and some Sleek palettes, sit beside my acrylic storage. I tend to use my Naked2 palette most of the time so I'm hoping that again having more of my palettes out will encourage me to use them.

My most reached for makeup is stored in my Ryman Desk Organiser and my Ryman Acrylic 3 Drawer Chest that arrived in the post this morning! If you are thinking about ordering the drawers make sure you check out the dimensions first as it is quite small but it is perfect for storing your most used/everyday products in. The Desk Organiser is also great for storing my most used products in as it has spaces perfect for lipsticks, blushes and more!

In my Desk Organiser I keep products that I'm loving at the moment, I'll definitely be moving products out of this and in to this often so I can reach my favourite products quickly. I think I'm also going to put products that I want to use more in this as well.

The first drawer in my acrylic storage holds some of my favourite lip products which includes lipsticks, lip glosses and lip crayons. Despite it being quite a small storage system it does hold enough products for me as I don't have a massive makeup collection like others.

The second drawer holds some of my favourite eye products, I've got some small palettes, eyeshadow bases, cream eyeshadows and my one lonely MAC eyeshadow in it at the moment. Having my mascaras/eyeliners stored in the empty candle jar means I have more space for other products in this drawer!

The last drawer has a few of my favourite face products in, including my favourite highlighter and CC Cream. Face products do tend to be a little bigger so this drawer doesn't hold as much but again enough for me.

Then I keep the rest of my makeup, that I don't tend to reach for as much or don't have enough space for on my desk/dressing table, in this drawer with my lip balms and some other products.

In this drawer I have all my lip balms in a Beauty Closet Makeup Bag, it is rather full, it is safe to say I LOVE lip balms! Next to it I have mainly hand creams in an old Primark Makeup Bag.

Then the rest of my makeup sits in a Glossybox. I plan to switch products out of here onto my dressing table/desk regularly so I use a bigger variety of products!

Let me know if you want to see an updated collection/storage post once I've gotten some MUJI storage!

Thanks for reading,
Shona x

    1. The ones in my desk? Yeah I just use glossyboxes to divide the drawer up and then smaller boxes (like small gift boxes, watch boxes etc) inside them to divide it up again :) xx
