Guest Post // How to get Healthy Hair

Hello there you beautiful people. My blog is Head2ToeVogue and I write about beauty, fashion and lifestyle. I am writing a guest post for Shona as she is recovering from her surgery. I am going to share with you my 5 easy tricks to healthy hair. Especially with the cold winter weather our hair starts feeling dry and gross so taking care of it really helps. Let's get into it...

1. My first tip is to avoid ripping through knots in your hair! This causes breakage which will result in split ends and frizziness.

2. Use a hair mask! This will keep your ends moisturized and smooth. I would just use coconut oil for your hair. It's the best I've found. Just using a mask will make your hair in better condition!

3. Use a serum! It can be a split end mender, anti-breakage, smoothing or just argan oil/Moroccan oil. It will sit on your hair and soak in giving you more benefits. This will be working until you wash your hair next.

4. Don't brush your hair when it's wet! It's a big no no unless it's a wide tooth comb or a brush made for wet hair(tangle teaser, wet brush). Your hair is a lot more fragile when wet so it's easier to break and get split ends. And be very gentle!

5. Avoid excessive heat! Use heat as little as you can, try to only do it 1-2 times a week. If your up for the challenge try only using heat 1-3 times a MONTH! The heat is basically frying your hair causing more breakage and split ends. If you do use heat make sure to use a heat protectent or invest in ceramic plated tools. They cause little to no damage.

    1. Hello there! That's the same with me! If you want you can carry a brush around with you so you just brush out small knots throughout the day. If you can't them I would get your hair wet and put a lot of detangler or leav in conditioner then slowly brush it out, working from the ends up! Glad you liked the post!

  2. I thought I was quite good with my hair (in that I only blowdry it until it's damp, and never straighten it) but I actually didn't know about not brushing it wet! I'll defo start doing that in the future :) xx
