A.K.A Cosmetics // First Impressions

I don't know about you but I love being introduced to brands that are new to me! It's nice to stroll around Boots and pick up the newest products from brands you are familiar with but I think once in a while it is nice to dip into a brand that you aren't so familiar with! After all one element of makeup, in my opinion, is experimenting! Whether that be with colour, new products or just a different brand.

A.K.A Cosmetics is a new brand to me so when these pretty products arrived in the post I couldn't wait to try them all out! The brand launched last year and claims to have a sleek, modern collection of makeup consisting of the eye, lip and nail products you can find on their website.

This Nail Polish in Tarnish* is my favourite product out of them all so far! The shade is gorgeous, in the bottle it is a stunning silver that has tiny bits of glitter in that shine in the light. I love nail polishes with fine glitter and not just because they are easier to take off! You only need 2 coats of this to get the shade completely opaque and I found it dried quickly. It almost goes a little duo-chrome on your nails as the colour is still silver but with an almost green tone to it. I've had this on for 3 days now without chipping so things are looking good on that front as well!

Next up is are these lipglosses in ecstacy* and red lotus*. Ecstacy is the most pigmented of the two and is a lovely pink almost fuchsia shade, in the light it is beautiful. It is really well pigmented which is great but this done mean care must be taken when applying it, you'd definitely need a mirror! It feels really smooth and soft on my lips as well and isn't sticky at all! It lasts for about 2-3 hours on me which is pretty good for a lipgloss! Red Lotus is a more sheer colour, it's a pink shade that has been given a boost of colour with tones of red and I almost want to say it looks like it has some peachy orange tones in it! Despite being a little less pigmented than the other shade this is my favourite as it is more wearable, easier to apply and still has a pleasing non-sticky texture!

The 3rd lip product is this Red Lip Liner* which is the product that I've probably used the least. I love the design of the product, I'm not a big lip liner person and don't tend to wear it but having the product in the twist up style instead of sharpening your lip liner is pretty handy! Also this product is a lot creamier than the standard lip pencil that can be a little scratchy. Like I said I won't get much use out of this but red lipstick lovers will enjoy this product!

Finally I have a Blusher in Pink Kiss* to show you, a very bold shade indeed! When swatched the colour stays just as bold and you do need a light hand when working with this blusher or else you'll look like a clown! The shade isn't very me and is a little too bold for my liking but it is a well pigmented and well formulated blush so I would recommend it to those who enjoy these kinds of shades! I've got my eye on a few of the tamer shades!
