Top 5 Skincare Products // Collab w/ Tattooed Tealady

This is now the 5th Top 5 Collab Post me and Sophia have done and I'm so glad you are all enjoying them as much as me and Sophia are enjoying writing them! They've become a regular monthly post on our blogs and this months top 5 post is all about skincare! This is definitely more Sophia's forte with her being a big lover of skincare but I still loved picking my Top 5 as I've being getting into skincare more recently! My skincare routine is pretty simple and I don't tend to use anything fancy but I do have a few products that I couldn't be without!

The first product is pretty new to my skincare routine but I knew it had to have a place in my top 5! I recently did a full review on this, read here, so if you want to know more about it take a look! Summarised though this has removed the need for me to repurchase Bioderma! I find this removes my makeup just as well as Bioderma does, it even manages to remove waterproof mascara. I think it's a bargain, it's difficult to find a decent highstreet makeup remover these days, I'm looking at you Simple and your makeup remover that made my eyes sting!

To properly cleanse my skin and remove any left over makeup I reach for the bloggers favourite, the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. I really wasn't interested in this before I won it in a giveaway, I just thought it was another hyped up product that would only disappoint, how wrong was I though! This cleanses my skin really well whilst removing makeup effortlessly. I don't technically need both the L'Oreal Makeup Remover and this Liz Earle product but I find together they are a great pair when it comes to cleansing my skin and removing makeup.

These next 2 products are both relatively new to my skincare routine! The first product is the Boots Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz. This is the first toner I've ever used and I really didn't read any reviews about it before I picked it up! Thankfully I really like it though, I use this just before I moisturise. I find it refreshes my skin after cleansing as sometimes my skin can lack moisture afterwards. This just prepares my skin for moisturising really nicely and it's also great for using throughout the day to refresh your skin. I don't use this over makeup but it's a go to product for me on makeup free days!

Next up is a product that Garnier recommends I shouldn't use, oops! The Garnier Pure Active Charcoal Scrub is not recommended for use on dry or sensitive skin, I have dry skin but I find it works for me really well! It is aimed towards spot prone skin which mine has been recently but it is still dry. I picked this up without knowing but I've really been enjoying using it. The exfoliating particles in it aren't as big as my St Ives Scrub which I like, it isn't as harsh on your skin but it still does it's job. Also my skin has been more spot prone recently (something which thankfully doesn't happen often!) and I've found this is slowly helping clear my skin. Hopefully I can come back and update you all on how this is working for me in another month or so and say even more positive things!

Finally the last product is definitely not something that is new to my skincare routine! I've had this Johnsons hydrating 24hr day cream for normal skin for over a year now and I'm only just finishing it! When it runs out I'll buy the version for dry skin as Autumn is in full swing now and Winter will creep up on us quickly! A little goes a long way with this and I've found it is the only moisturiser that actually helps give my dry skin a moisture boost!

Those are my Top 5 Skincare Products! I'm really happy with my skincare routine at the moment and the products I'm using! Remember to go over and take a look at Sophia's Top 5 Picks! Also talking of skincare if you haven't already seen Sophia's #MyLittleSkincareProject then go and take a look here!

Shona x

  3. The Garnier scrub sounds interesting. Definitely sounds like a good one for men's skin. May look into it although I do have sensitive skin so it may not work for me... Great post! :-)

  4. I love the garnier scrub - it's one of the only ones I've used that didn't break me out or leave my skin feeling stripped. Boots botanics have so many lovely products, I love the ionic clay mask and the cleansing balm - they feel really luxurious!
