MUA Lash Boom Mascara // Review

Ever since I fell in love with MUA's Every Lash Mascara I've been trying out the other mascaras they offer hoping they are just as good! So far I haven't found one from any brand that quite lives up to my high expectations set by the Every Lash Mascara so, the question is... Does this one?

MUA Lash Boom Mascara in Ultra Black*

Firstly the brush is really unique and personally I think they have got it spot on. Whilst the more normal end of the brush is difficult to use due to the ball on the end I still think the brush is great. I mainly use the end of the brush as I find it is great for building up lots and volume but you also can achieve a lot of length at the same time. The end of the brush makes the wand easy to work with as well and enables you to coat every lash evenly.

As you can see applying one coat gives you lots of length and more a natural amount of volume, my lashes are also more separated in the first picture. Applying another coat gives your lashes a lot more volume and pushes them together more meaning you loose some of the length but gain a lot more volume.

The make or break factor for me is always lasting time and I can happily say that this lasts better than the last MUA Mascara I reviewed! It lasts nearly all day on me, I say nearly but by this I just mean that you might have a few black flakes of mascara just under your waterline by the end of the day, this is what I found anyway. I'm impressed with it and I'll happily continue to use it, I can deal with a little bit of flaking towards the end of the day.

So, lasting time it isn't as good as the Every Lash Mascara but it certainly beats it on the volume side of things! This doesn't take Holy Grail position though, will I ever find a mascara better than my favourite?

The MUA Lash Boom Mascara is available to buy in selected superdrug stores or from the MUA website here for £3.

  2. Oh the brush is a really strange shape. I can see that being a bit awkward to use and an increased chance I might poke myself in the eye with it! x
