MAC Lipstick in Creme Cup // Review

Recently I was extremely lucky and won Angelica's MAC Lipstick Giveaway! I knew what shade I wanted straight away, I've had my eye on Creme Cup for a while! I was planning on treating myself to this shade eventually but the £15 price tag was putting me off so I was over the moon when I found out I had won!

Creme Cup is a Cremesheen Lipstick, I hadn't tried this formula before so I was really looking forward to seeing whether I liked it or not. It isn't my favourite formula, I still really prefer the Lustre formula as I think it is more creamy and glides on easer. I suffer with dry lips and if I haven't exfoliated my lips and stuck on a lip balm before this lipstick can cling to dry patches but these two steps are ones are do often anyway. I do find throughout the day my lips can feel a little dry but I just dab a little lip balm on top to help. If you don't have dry lips I think you and this lipstick will get on really well!

I do find it doesn't last as long as my other lipsticks, it lasts maybe 2 hours maximum which isn't great lasting time so if you hate reapplying lippie this isn't the shade for you! Creme Cup is a light blue toned pink that is a very soft shade perfect for an everyday lip colour. You can build up the colour or sheer it out to your preference which is something I love in lipsticks.

Overall I love the shade but me and the formula just aren't best friends, I'll continue to use it and love it but I doubt I'll be buying any cremesheen formula lipsticks in the future!

What is your favourite MAC Lipstick Formula?

Thanks for reading,
Shona x

  1. Such a gorgeous shade! It really suits you! I have yet to try any MAC lipsticks, I'm a big fan of their other products, I can't live without my mac kohl liner, but I must admit the £15 pricetag puts me off the lipsticks a bit, purely because I know that once I've bought one, I won't be able to stop! Great post :)

  2. Can I just say Shona, I really appreciate and love the fact you show the lipstick actually on :) Not enough bloggers do this, so when they do, I really do find it helpful and appreciate it :) I think you've inspired me to dig my own Creme Cup out today and wear it :)

    1. I really really annoys me when people don't show lipsticks on their lips, I know it takes longer but I think it is worth the effort so nice to see that someone appreciates that I do it, I appreciate that you appreciate that I do it haha :) You should, think I might wear it tomorrow :) xx

  3. Lustre formulas are my favourite too, i haven't tried this one but i might stay away from it now since my lips are pretty dry! Its a lovely colour though, looks lovely against your skin tone. If you haven't tried it already i'd really recommend Lovelorn, it's a Lustre formula and i think you might like it! x

    1. It is such a lovely shade but if you have dry lips I can see it being worth the price tag unfortunately :( Lovelorn was actually the first MAC Lipstick I purchased, I love it! :) x

  5. I have this shade and it's so pretty and looks great on you - suits you loads! But on me it's a little too light, I just think it doesn't really suit me as my lips are quite pigmented and more of a muted soft berry colour (lol sounds weird) so I usually stick to slightly darker shades rather than lighter pinks but after reading this I think I may get it out and play around with it! Congrats on winning lots of giveaways too lately -I'm very jealous! But you definitely deserve it! Xxx

  7. Wow I love that colour so much! It looks beautiful on you :)
I hadn't tried a MAC lipstick yet sadly :( Mainly because there is no MAC stores/counters near me so I only go there when I am on holidays or away somewhere. I might order a lustre one online cause I also have really dry lips.
Creme Cup is the perfect colour for school!

  8. Love the colour to bits (I get a lot of compliments when I wesr it), I wear lippie more now but completely agree on the formula. I also find on my dry areas just shine through it, I put a balm/gloss over the top to try and match the colour but its not the same :-(

    1. I might try and hunt out a lipgloss that is similar to it as I love it but it really does dry your lips out and highlight dry patches xx
