Guest Post: Sophie's Top 5 Summer Nail Polishes

Hi everyone,

I'm Sophie and I'm very excited to be guest posting on Shona's blog today. This is my first guest post so I hope it's alright!

So I thought I'd do a post about one of my favourite things - nail polish! The weather has actually been really good for the past couple of weeks so I've been using brighter colours on my nails, I've chosen five of my favourites to share with you.

1. Models Own in "Peaches and Cream": this is a lovely peachy colour (hence the name), it's a bit brighter than I thought but once it was on my nails it grew on me and now I really like it. I would say it's an orangey peach and as with most Models Own nail polishes it is opaque in two coats. This looks great with a tan too!

2. Barry M Gelly High Shine in "Prickly Pear": I bought this on a bit of a whim (partly because I loved the name), at the time I was searching for a perfect lilac. I have to say this isn't my perfect lilac but I'm glad I bought it as it's a lovely purple shade which I really love wearing with my mint coloured t-shirt as the two colours look lovely together. I also really like the Barry M packaging especially the new silver lid on the high shine ones.

3. Sinful Colors in "Island Coral": this is my most recent purchase out of all of the nail polishes and I love it! The colour is amazing and I love the Sinful Colors brush (and the price!). I use this colour on my toe nails too as I tend to go for bright colours when I paint my toes. I'll definitely be picking up more of their shades.

4. Models Own in "Bloo Boo": this was one of my first ever Models Own nail polishes and I'm so glad I bought it! It has a subtle shimmer when in the bottle this doesn't transfer onto the nail but I don't see this as a problem as I prefer non shimmery nail polishes. It is honestly the perfect blue for summer, it isn't too bright or too pastel like, it has the perfect blend.

5. Essie in "Navigate Her": I never used to be keen on green nail varnish until I bought this. Like "Bloo Boo" it isn't too bright as I personally dislike bright greens, I just don't think they suit me. It's a nice pastel green without it being mint as I find most pastel greens are minty colours. I also really like the Essie brushes as they are nice and flat although slightly too wide for my little finger.

So there my top picks for nail polish this summer. Do you own any of these? What colours/brands are you loving this summer?

Sophie

A note from Shona: Thanks Sophie for the fab blogpost! I really loved reading it, I love the look of Model's Own 'Bloo Boo'
