Beauty Haul // Boots and Superdrug

This is the final haul out of the 3 I had planned for you! You've already seen my Birthday Haul and Fashion Haul so I'll finish off my trio of hauls by showing you the beauty products I've been buying recently! It's been a while since I properly treated myself to some beauty products so I thought I'd go all out and tick quite a few things off my wishlist!

When I met up with Bex, Lisa and Hannah for my birthday meal I was actually quite restrained and didn't buy much at all! I did pick up a few beauty bits and bobs though, mostly because of other bloggers recommendations as usual! Firstly I picked up the Mini Champneys Distant Shores Body Scrub which was £2.50. If you went to the #hertsbedsmeet then you'll know all about this product! Everyone went crazy for it because it smells incredible and I was one of the few who didn't pick it up. I couldn't resist any longer though and felt I could justify it as I've been looking for a new body scrub!

Then in Superdrug I got myself another Maybelline Baby Lips despite saying I wouldn't pick up any of the clear ones! This one is the Hydrate one I picked it up because people say it tasted of Lemonade, my favourite drink! I haven't actually tried it yet, hopefully I'll like it just as much as the tinted versions!

Whilst in Boots I declared that I had never used a toner and frankly I wasn't sure what one did! I blame Lisa for this purchase as she said I needed a toner after telling me off for never using one! I had no idea which ones were good and what did what so grabbed the Boots Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz because it was on offer, it must have been about £3. I haven't actually tried this either yet!

Finally my last beauty buy of that day was the Herbal Essences Seductively Straight Hair Mask which I found in Poundworld. I've never tried the Herbel Essences Hair Masks so I'm really looking forward to trying this out as people always say good things about them!

Then when I met up with Jayne I seemed to buy every beauty product in site! One of my last purchases were these Real Technique Brushes. I've started wearing CC Cream/BB Cream more regularly but I'm just not loving my RT Buffing Brush as much as I used to so thought I'd try out the Expert Face Brush! It is a lot smaller in person which I'm quite happy about as I have a small face, this was £9.99 I think. Then Jayne pointed out there was a Buy One Get One Half Price offer on, of course I couldn't walk away with just the one brush! I've had my eye on the Blush Brush for a while and as soon as Jayne said she loved it I was sold! This brush was also £9.99 so I only paid around £15 for both of them! I own so many RT Brushes now, they are just the best I've come across, I might do a post all about them, like a review maybe?

Then we headed to Superdrug and I spent more than I probably should have in there! I firstly spotted the L'Oreal Micellar Solution but I just couldn't decide whether to get it! I've heard good things and I've heard bad things but since it was on offer and I still haven't repurchased my bioderma I figured it wouldn't hurt to try it out. Also I was after a new face scrub and decided to try out this Garnier Charcoal Scrub, what I didn't read about it though that as it isn't recommend to those who have dry skin (oops!). I'm going to try it out anyway because I've bought it and opened it now, I'll definitely report back to you on what I think of it!

I then also was after a new top coat since my Sally Hansen Insta-Dri had run out a while back. I didn't want to repurchase it though because it gets thick and gloopy very quickly. I spotted this Sally Hansen No Chip Top Coat for £3.95 so thought I'd give it a try, hopefully it will dry my nails pretty quickly as well!

Speaking of nails I also came out of Superdrug with 4 new nail polishes! In Sixth Form at my school you can wear nail polish so I wanted to pick up some new shades to play around with, I don't have many pastel nail polishes so thought I'd go for some typically spring appropriate shades! I picked up 3 MUA Nail Polishes in Lush Lilac, Pistachio Ice Cream and Frozen Yoghurt which were all £1 each. I also remembered that I don't own a yellow nail polish so picked up this miss sporty one which was only £1.99, it doesn't have a shade name unfortunately!

I think I definitely have enough beauty products here to last me for a while, expect lots of reviews coming up soon as well! No more big trips to Superdrug and Boots for me for a while I think!

What beauty products have you buying recently? Or what products are on your wishlist?

Thanks for reading,
Shona x

  5. I recently bought the Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz and the two Real Techniques brushes, absolutely love all three purchases! I love the scent of the rosewater and it feels so nice to spritz it on after a long, tiring day. I use the Expert Face Brush every morning to apply my foundation and it has made such a difference to its lasting power. The blusher brush is also great, I love that it's shaped which makes it fool proof to use. Enjoy your goodies!xx
