MUA Kiss Proof Lip Stain in Fabullcious // Review

MUA are a affordable high-street brand that seems to get it right over and over again. Their lip products especially impress me with their cheap and cheerful £1 lipsticks, moisturising power pouts and pigmented intense kisses glosses. However, when it comes down to MUA's lip stains, I'm not sure whether they follow this pattern!

Firstly the felt tipped applicator is scratchy and so uncomfortable to use! It claims to be perfect for 'easy application to create a perfect line.' However it is impossible to create a line around the edge of your lips as no where near enough product comes out of the actual tip of the applicator! Hardly any product comes out at all from the applicator anyway, this product is lacking pigmentation, as you can see from the above picture. Also when I applied this it went patchy very quickly and as much as I tried to fill the gaps I just couldn't! These do stain your lips but who wants patchy stained lips?

These might appear to be a bargain at only £3 but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, I won't be using mine again!

Have you tried these? What did you think?

Shona x

  1. I've never come across a lip product in this felt tip format that's worked well! The Rimmel ones were horrible as well, it's a shame because like you say usually MUA are so good x

    1. I think the NYC lip stains are OK but not fab, the best I've come across. But yeah I just think the felt tip applicator doesn't really work overall! xx

  2. I hate all of these felt tip applicator lip stains, I've tried a few versions and I just don't like them at all :/ It's such a shame because once applied they do last pretty well!xx

  3. Oh that is such a let down! ELF lip stains are pretty good, I've only ever bought one but it was quite pigmented! I think I will just stick to MUA lipsticks then!

    1. It would be a bargain if it wasn't patchy or uncomfortable to apply! x
