L'Oreal Shine Splash in Lolita // Review

When the L'Oreal Shine Splashes first came out I was adamant that I wasn't going to try them, at £7.99 they were on the cheaper end of L'Oreal's lip products but still a little pricey for me. However when Boots failed to stock the Revlon Lip Butter I wanted I decided to try L'Oreal's lip product offerings instead!

I've heard lots of mix reviews on these but I personally really like them, they certainly aren't perfect though!

They leave a shine on yours lips for about an hour but then it leaves a nice stain on your lips for about another 1-2 hours. I've always said this but I don't mind reapplying lip products so I'm happy with this time.

I find they are a little sticky though which means my hair is always getting caught on my lips when I wear this so I tend to mostly wear it with my hair up.

They aren't the most pigmented of products and I do wish I'd bought a darker shade now but I do still like Lolita and I'm glad I tried the Shine Splashes.

All in all I do like this but I probably won't buy another one. I will use this and love it but I don't have a major need for another one, I would recommend them though if you don't mind lip products being a little sticky, I know I can put up with, its just annoying sometimes.

Have you tried these? What did you think? Or if you haven't do you want to try them?

Thanks for reading,
Shona x

  1. I bought two of them and I am very disappointed :( I can't stand them to be honest. I should have bought 2 Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stains or Lip Butters instead :(

    1. I would buy a revlon balm stain over them any day but I do like it. I stood there swatching the lip butters for ages trying to find a colour that I liked but I couldn't find another shade, if boots had had my shade I definitely wouldn't have bought this aha! x

  3. I didn't like them either I have the red shade and it is awful, it does stay glossy for a long time but when it wears off it leaves a line of colour around my lips, I have only worn mine twice and won't be wearing it again :( so so disappointed xxxxx

  5. This looks really nice. It's a shame it doesn't stay on for long but to be honest, I don't think many lip products do!

    1. :) Its difficult to find a lip product that would last along as people would like, I think people expect too much from lip products sometimes! I really don't mind reapplying products xx
